WPR Interview on Masking in Healthcare 6/1, 7am, and Action Items
Dr. Kaitlin Sundling will discuss why masking in healthcare is basic infection control
At 7am Central time tomorrow (Thursday, June 1), Wisconsin Public Radio’s The Morning Show with host Kate Archer Kent is featuring an interview with UW Workers’ COVID Response Working Group member Dr. Kaitlin Sundling on why we should bring back masks in healthcare. You can listen live online on the WPR Ideas Network.
We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight this important issue on WPR. Masking in healthcare is basic infection control. Universal masking policies protect patients, healthcare workers and our communities.
Take action to support masking in healthcare:
Sign and share our petition to reinstate masking at UW Health.
Submit public comment to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to ask for accountability for healthcare-acquired COVID infections through data tracking as well as masking requirements.
Ask your senators to have Medicare track healthcare-acquired COVID infections and require masking in healthcare.
Wear a mask, ideally a well-fitting N95 respirator, when you enter healthcare facilities.
Ask your healthcare providers to mask, which can be requested as an Americans with Disabilities Act reasonable accommodation.
Thank you for your support of healthcare masking! 😷
